facettenreichtum ist eine eigenschaft, die ich an personen ganz besonders mag. alles in mir schreit: überrasche mich! bring etwas neues! trau dich! komm aus dir heraus! wer mag das schon, immer das gleiche zu tun und nicht vom fleck zu kommen. das wird auf dauer ziemlich langweilig. und da es ja ein affront gegen, ja, eigentlich alle wäre, solche erwartungen selbst nicht erfüllen zu können, achte ich stets immer darauf mein eigenes ich genau nach diesen anforderungen neu zu erfinden.

in mir schlummern (unter anderem) zwei stile: farbenfroh-laut-avantgardistisch und stilvoll-chique-kleinteilig. ganz konkrete beispiele gibts hier: [link] - [link] oder auch [link] - [link]. wenn man so durch mein blogfeed scrollt, dann wechseln sich meine beiden „alter egos“ eigentlich fast mit wöchentlicher garantie ab.

a multifaceted nature is one of the most important qualities for me when meeting new people. it seems like my thoughts are crying: surprise me! show me something new! i dare you! be yourself! i mean, who likes being stuck in one place and doing the same things every day. it can get pretty boring. and affronting, like, everybody with me not meeting all those expectations myself, i try to reinvent myself considering all of the above.

inside of me, there are two styles slumbering (among others): colourful-loud-avantgarde and stylish-chic-detailed. a few concrete examples are here: [link] - [link] and also [link] - [link]. while scrolling through my blog feed, you can clearly see how my two „alter egos“ are taking turns with an almost weekly guarantee.

ein mix aus oberflächen und materialien

nach dieser präzisierung ist das heutige outfit eindeutig in die zweite kategorie einzuordnen. ich kombiniere einen abgestimmten mix aus oberflächen und materialien: plissée in der wunderschönen, bestens für den sommergeeigneten culotte*, die ich freundlicherweise von romwe geschickt bekomme habe, spitze in dem schicken oberteil, glattes leder in den pumps und der tasche, marmordesign in der brille und ganz viel perlenschmuck. das gesamte paket gibt’s in neutralen tönen mit der gewissen prise rosa, die die bunte mischung aus stilen zusammen halten.

after this specification, today’s outfit is a clear candidate for the latter. i combine a balanced mix of surfaces and materials: this marvelously pleated pair of culottes* which the store romwe was so kind to send me, lace in the top, leather shoes and bag, marble glasses and a lot of pearls. the whole package includes neutral tones with a dash of pink to hold together the diverse variety of styles.

finger weg von dieser plissée-ware!

plissée ist ja die stoffbearbeitung des sommers 2017. wo man hinsieht gibt es plissée-röcke, -oberteile, -kleider, was auch immer. doch plissée ist nicht gleich plissée. worauf man unbedingt achten sollte beim kauf insbesondere von röcken oder hosen, die mit einem gummibund in der taille sitzen, ist die art und weise, wie der übergang beim bund ist. finger weg von plissierter ware, die in falten im bund eingenäht ist! das ist nämlich richtig unvorteilhaft für den taillen- und hüftbereich: die taille ist ja bekanntlich die stelle, die schmeichelhaft in den vordergrund gestellt wird, um die allseits beliebte sanduhren-silhouette zu erzielen. durch den gummibund wird das auch ganz leicht möglich, jedoch werden die kleinen falten alle aufspringen und sich raum für die hüften suchen, sollten sie in den bund mit eingenäht sein. das mogelt einem einige kilos an die hüften dran und das will ja wohl niemand.

also immer darauf achten, das der bund mit geöffneten falten verarbeitet ist. durch die fabrikation des plissées ist das auch kein problem: plissée wird immer aus kunstfasern wie polyester oder polyacryl gefertigt. das verfahren nennt sich „thermofixierung“, bei dem durch hitzeeinwirkung die falten dauerhaft in die fasern „geschmolzen“ werden. ist also optimal für eine "offene" verarbeitung.

bei meiner hose (die du hier bekommst) ist es ähnlich gemacht: der gummizug zieht quasi den geöffneten stoff in form.

folded pleats sewn into the waistband, do not buy them!

the most popular fabric processing of the summer 2017 is, with no doubts, pleats. you see them everywhere you look. pleated skirts, tops, dresses, you name it. but, pleats aren’t always the same. one thing you should definitely keep in mind, is the way the waistband is attached. especially in trousers and skirts with an elastic waistband, since everything is concentrated on your waist. if your pleats are sewn into the waistband folded, do not buy them! because that’s not very flattering for your hip area. your waist is generally used to emphasize your figure to accomplish the hourglass shaped silhouette. having an elastic waistband makes it pretty easy to do that but if your pleats are hold in place there, they won’t stay flat and cheat on some pounds to your hip. and we definitely don’t want that.

so check your pleats if they are sewn openly flat. because of the fabrication process of pleats, it is no problem: they are only made out of synthetic fabrics like polyester or polyacrylic. they use a method called „heat setting“ or „thermosetting“ to melt the pleats into the fabric. the pleats will never go away.

my trousers (which you can get here) are made similarly: the elastic waistband pulls the fabric in shape.

allrounder

für mich ist die kombination von hose und oberteil ein allrounder. ganz leicht wird aus dem schicken look ein streetwear-outfit, wählt man andere accessoires und schuhe. sneaker, espadrilles, sandalen dazu eine kleine umhängetasche und schon kann’s ab in die stadt gehen. bequem und schick, das ist doch die perfekte kombination, richtig?

for me this combination of trousers and top is an allrounder. it’s so easy to transform this chic look into a streetwear outfit, just by choosing other accessories and shoes. sneaker, espadrilles, sandles. a cross body bag and you’re ready to go into town.
