wie ich ungefähr schon hunderttausend mal erwähnt habe, habe ich mein studium dieses frühjahr abgeschlossen. da ich aber meinen passionen mode und design nicht länger als 3 wochen lebewohl sagen kann, griff ich erneut nach nadel und faden.
vor circa einem jahr habe ich zum ersten mal mit echtleder gearbeitet und war begeistert. wenn man sich einige kniffe erst einmal erarbeitet hat, ist es ein leichtes, dem als schwer zu verarbeiten geltenden rohmaterial, den kampf anzusagen. und weil die jahreszeit nunmal prädestiniert dafür ist, entschied ich mich natürlich für eine neue lederjacke. ich besitze bereits ein, zwei leder und kunstlederjacken in verschiedenen farben, musste aber einige male schon feststellen, dass mir die klassische schwarze jacke fehlt. auch wenn ich mich gerade vehement gegen komplett schwarze outfits sträube, konnte ich gar nicht anders, als meiner ersten eingebung zu folgen und schwarzes leder zu kaufen. warum ich ungern schwarz trage? nun, das hat eigentlich einen ganz einfachen grund: ich hatte eine relativ lange schwarzphase, währenddessen ich mich schlichtweg satt gesehen habe daran. kurzum: ich habe einfach keine lust auf schwarz. sich einer sache komplett zu verschließen entspricht allerdings nicht wirklich meinen grundsätzen, also war die entscheidung wohl doch die richtige. und zufrieden bin ich allemal.

as i roughly told you over a hundred thousand times, i graduated from university this spring. since i can’t really resist practicing both of my passions fashion and design for more than 3 weeks, i got my needle and thread out again.
i guess i first worked with real leather about a year ago and was immediately in love with it. after working out some tricks, it isn’t that complicated to work with anymore, even though its reputation precedes it. because the season is predestined for it, i of course chose to make myself a new leather jacket. i already own one or two leather and fake leather jackets in different colours, but i had had some problems with them in the past. they didn’t always go that well with everything. you find yourself needing your classic black leather jacket at some point i guess. at the moment i’m successfully resisting all black outfits but i simply had to follow my first intuition and buy black leather. why i don’t wear black? well, the reason for that is rather simple: i wore nothing but black for a long time. and during that time, I had seen enough of it. in short: i’m just not keen on black. shutting myself off to things, doesn’t really go well with my moral principles, therefore my decision has been the right one i hope. i am pleased with it now anyway.
DEIN DESIGN - DEINE FREIHEITEN
was ich an eigenen kreationen so liebe, sind ganz klar die details. ich bin sehr detailverliebt, deshalb macht es mir mitunter am meisten spaß kleine hingucker einzubauen. sei es nun eine logo auf der innentasche, ein bestimmtes futter, knöpfe, buttons oder musterstickereien, völlig egal. man hat die freiheit eines, zwei, drei oder einfach auch alles davon einzubauen. auch wenn von anfang an nicht alles geplant war, erwische ich mich immer wieder dabei, mitten in der arbeit innezuhalten, nachzudenken und irgendetwas einzubauen, was man vielleicht gar nicht sieht. aber ich weiß, dass es da ist und das bereitet mir freude.
YOUR DESIGN - YOUR CREATIVE FREEDOM
i think what i like most about your own creations, are the details. paying a lot of attention to details, makes it much more fun to add small eye-catchers. it doesn’t matter if it’s your logo on the inside pocket, specific lining, buttons, embroideries. you are free to do one, two, three or all of them. even though not everything has been planned from the beginning, i frequently catch myself thinking about details i can add. in the middle of work! and sometimes you don’t even get to see it at first glance because it’s hidden somewhere inside. but that’s exactly what i love about my work.
ich denke am auffälligsten ist die stickerei am rücken, die ich mit lederfarben und einer schwammtechnik unterlegt habe. der flap, auf dem sie sich befindet, ist nur punktuell an der passe befestigt und lässt direkt auf den breiten fellkragen blicken. vorne ist er mit zwei buttons an die jacke gepinnt. das erlaubt es, sie auf zwei arten zu tragen: mit offenem reißverschluss und „button-down-kragen“ oder geschlossen, wo aus dem schicken fell ganz schnell ein wärmender schal wird. im vorderteil sind insgesamt vier taschen eingearbeitet; zwei leistentaschen, eine kleine seitliche eingriffstasche außen, und eine versteckte innentasche im futter. die leisten sind mit unterschiedlichen buttons, knöpfen und nieten verziert, wohingegen die innentasche mein eingenähtes logo zeigt.
i think the most conspicuous is the embroidery on the upper back. i dyed the leather with some colour and stitched on top of it. it is only partly attached to the yoke and leads directly into the broad fur collar. pinning it down with two buttons on the front, the collar can be worn two different ways: with the zipper open and the more casual „button-down-collar“ or all closed up, with the fur collar transforming into a warm fur scarf. in the front part there are four pockets: two welt pockets on either side, a small zipped up pocket on the right and a hidden inside pocket in the lining. with different buttons decorating the welts, they are pretty obvious, wherever the hidden pocket has my logo stitched into it.
DAS OUTFIT IM ZEICHEN DER JACKE: ROCKIG-SCHICK-VERSPIELT
damit die jacke etwas heraussticht, nehme ich die restlichen teile des outfits in farbe und muster zurück. da ich auch in meinem druck am rücken damit gearbeitet habe, setze ich rot als dezente farbakzente. das oberteil mit vichy-karo in grau und weiß ist partiell verdeckt, weswegen es trotz des auffälligen musters eher zurücktritt. die gerade hose hat sportliche streifen auf der seite und leitet farblich die schuhe ein, bei denen die kleingewebte netzstrumpfhose zum vorschein kommt. als accessoirefarbe wähle ich, passend zur allgemeinen farbstimmung, silber und entscheide mich für eine komplett verspiegelte brille und ein choker-halsband.
MY JACKET AS THE BASIS OF THE OUTFIT: ROCKY-CHIC-PLAYFULLY
letting the jacket play the leading role, i tone down all remaining items in colour and pattern. because i’d already worked with it in my print on the back, i chose red as a subtle touch of colour. peeking out just a little bit underneath the jacket, the rather noticeable vichy check print in grey and white gives an interesting touch to the upper part of the outfit. the straightly tailored pair of trousers has those sporty stripes on both sides of the leg. they perfectly introduce the shoes with their colour and give a glimpse at the fishnet stockings. choosing silver as the overall colour for accessories, i decide on completely mirrored shades and a choker necklace.
ich hoffe euch gefällt die jacke und das outfit, dass ich dazu gestylt habe. ich kann es kaum erwarten, meine nächsten designs umzusetzen! aber für mich geht es am montag erstmal in den urlaub: ich fliege in die usa! dort besuche ich eine freundin, die ich damals in meinem praktikum in london kennengelernt habe. ich kann es kaum erwarten in boston und new york die straßen zu erkunden. ach ja, und ich gehe auf den broadway! dort sehe ich mein musical-icon ramin karimloo live in anastasia - ich kann es noch gar nicht fassen!

i hope you like the jacket and of course the outfit i styled. i can’t wait to realize a lot more of my own designs. but on monday i’m flying to the united states! i’m visiting a friend of mine who i got to know during my internship in london. i can’t wait to walk the streets of boston and new york! and of course to go on the broadway! i will be seeing my musical icon ramin karimloo live in anastasia - i can’t even grasp, combrehend, believe it or whatever words you have in mind!
