für mich ist es im frühling, gerade dann, wenn es auf den sommer zugeht, immer wichtig, wandelbar zu sein. klamottentechnisch. denn schließlich kann man sich nie so wirklich sicher sein, wie sich der tag entwickelt; ist es mittags warm, kann ein gewitter am selben abend noch folgen. wie war es denn in den letzten tagen? sommerliche temperaturen um die 30°C mit prallem sonnenschein, sagen auf wiedersehen und lassen den wolken den vortritt. natürlich genau dann, wenn ich wieder aus den usa komme.

das die kleidung eine entscheidende rolle spielt, habe ich nicht zuletzt in den durchgehend klimatisierten räumen in den staaten gemerkt - ist einem im einen augenblick noch viel zu warm, friert man durch den kontinuierlichen luftzug der aircondition im nächsten. ein zwiebelprinzip war dort unerlässlich.

zwiebelprinzip - ein farbenfrohes winterphänomen

wenn ich zwiebelprinzip höre, dann assoziiere ich damit automatisch quietschbunte skiklamotten, nicht gut sitzende regenjacken und unmodische funktionskleidung. es ist allgemein nicht unbedingt als das modischste überhaupt bekannt. deshalb sehe ich es fast schon als meine pflicht an, diesem vorurteil ein ende zu setzen und euch vom gegenteil zu überzeugen. modischer zwiebellook geht nicht? falsch!

onion principle - a colourful winter phenomenon

when i hear onion principle, i associate the word with gaudy ski clothes, ill-fitting rain jackets and obsolete functional wear. it is generally not the most fashionable thing on earth. this is why i almost see it as my duty to stop this widespread prejudice and to convince you of the opposite. stylish onion principle is impossible? wrong (please read in trump voice)!

vielleicht habe ich mich ein wenig von den bunten regenjacken inspirieren lassen und das it-item farblich daran angepasst - gut tut die farbe dem ganzen aber allemal. denn erst so verleiht man einem doch recht schlichten outfit ein zweites gesicht. und es wird daraus ein funktionierender zwiebellook! ich kombiniere ganz klassisch schwarz mit weiß; greife bei den stoffen einmal zu leinen und zu baumwolle. das jeans-oberteil hat ein spannendes schleifen-detail im rücken, das super zur schnürung im fransen-mini-rock passt. darunter trage ich eine kleinmaschige netzstrumpfhose und schwarze wildleder overknees.

i might have gotten carried away by the colourful rain jackets, i admit. i adjusted the key-item to the gaudy inspiration which isn’t so bad in the end. i mean, i am always pro colours but can find beauty in neutral looks as well. this colour gives the whole look a completely different aspect which works for us positively here. combining black and white, i decided on linen, cotton and suede. the denim shirt has this interesting bow-tie detail in the back which leads perfectly to the lacing in the upper part of the skirt. underneath it, i wear small-mesh stockings and black overknee boots.

eine basis, zwei looks

für die kälteren temperaturen steht einem bei dieser neutralen basis jede tür offen, was den pullover angeht. ich entschied mich für einen übergroßen gelben pulli mit einem dezenten rüschendetail an der schulter. darüber trage ich eine body-kette (ich habe solche ketten schon so oft in diversen online-shops gesehen und wollte sie schon immer mal verwenden, hatte jedoch nie wirklich das passende outfit dazu. ich muss sagen, dass ich sehr positiv überrascht bin: ihr kennt es sicher von den längeren ketten: immer sind sie im weg, wenn man sich nach vorne beugt. sie schwingen bei jeder bewegung mit und sind generell etwas unpraktisch. doch durch die kette, die einmal um die taille geht, wird genau das verhindert. warum ist man nicht schon früher auf die idee gekommen?).

was sagt ihr zum zwiebellook? seid ihr auch der meinung, dass man daraus, obwohl es etwas negativ behaftet zu sein scheint, was total cooles machen kann?

one base, two looks

if it gets cold at nighttime you can do pretty much everything with this neutral base concerning the pullover. i decided on a big yellow one with a subtle ruffle detail on one shoulder. i wear a body chain over it (i’ve seen those before and always wanted to test them. i never got the opportunity sadly! until now, and i have to admit, this is genius. when wearing those long necklaces, it always got to one point where they are just in the way. while tying your laces for example. this won’t happen here because of the chain around the waist. why didn’t people come up with this earlier?).
