Der September ruft und pünktlich zu meinem Geburtstag beginnt diese verflixte Übergangszeit. Das Wetter spielt verrückt und kann sich zwischen Sonnenschein und Regenschauer nicht wirklich entscheiden. Wie oft stand ich schon ratlos vor meinem Kleiderschrank, auf der Suche nach einem Outfit, das all jenen Bedürfnissen gerecht wird, die ein solches Kuddelmuddel mit sich bringt. Dem kalten Wind sollte es standhalten. Bloß nicht schwitzen in der Sonne, die ja doch noch rauskommen könnte. Es muss also ein Allrounder sein, der für jede Wetterlage geeignet ist.

Gerade dann kann ich stiltechnisch mein tiefstes Inneres nach Außen kehren und kombinieren, was auf dem ersten Blick nicht wirklich gut zusammengeht: Pulli und Rock, Strick und Nadelstreifen, Casual und Schick.

Wenn ihr mich schon eine Zeit lang verfolgt, wisst ihr ganz genau, dass mir gerade solche „Grenzüberschreitungen“ am Bloggen so viel Spaß machen. Etwas Neues in der Mode zu kreieren oder zu kombinieren ist so gut wie unmöglich. Irgendwann ist alles schon mal da gewesen. Das hat mir jedenfalls mein Studium gezeigt. Aber das ist ja auch völlig in Ordnung, schließlich erfahren wir selbst diese Mode nur einmal; wie es vielleicht irgendwann in vergangenen Zeiten schon einmal In war, das bleibt für uns ja erstmal sekundär.

September is calling and just in time for my birthday this crazy autumn weather has started. It’s a non-persistent change between rain and the last bits of our beloved summer sun. How often would I stand in front of my closet, trying to figure out what outfit would be okay for everything early autumn weather is asking for. It should be warm in the cold wind, not too hot in the remaining sun because you never know. It just has to be an allrounder, suitable for every weather there is.

And exactly for this purpose, I can call my inner style victim to help me combine the right things together: Those, one would normally not wear in one outfit: Jumper and skirt, knit-wear and pin-stripes, casual and chic.

If you’ve been following me for some time now, you know exactly that it’s these kinds of cross-border outfits which i enjoy the most about blogging. Creating something new in fashion is almost impossible. At some point everyything has been around. At least, that’s what my studies have shown me in the last couple of years. But, for me, it’s totally okay since we only live through different fashion periods once in our lives; for us it’s less important, how it might have been in former times.

Der Taillengürtel feiert derzeit ja wieder sein Comeback

Wie oft er das schon auf unterschiedlichste Art und Weise hinter sich hat, ist jetzt erstmal nebensächlich. Aus unserer Generation wird er wohl am meisten mit den 80er Jahren assoziiert, was für uns wohl noch die greifbarste Vergangenheit darstellt. Tatsächlich geht die Betonung der Taille natürlich schon Jahrhunderte zurück. Gerade im Barock stand der praktische Nutzen noch an oberster Stelle, da die Gürtel tatsächlich Oberteil und Rock zusammengehalten haben. Dies wurde später, als die Kleider in der Taille zusammengenäht wurden, nicht mehr nötig. Im 19. Jahrhundert verlor er etwas an Bedeutung und wurde erst in den 50er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts mit den berühmten Petticoats wieder modern.

Ich habe euch im Zuge dessen mal ein paar Modelle rausgesucht, die ich zurzeit zu meinen Favoriten zähle.

The waist belt is celebrating its comeback

Again. How often and in how many different ways it has already celebrated that, is unclear. For our generation the 80s probably mark the most tangible chapter of history. When in fact the highlighting of the waist goes back centuries. In the baroque era, it was used as the connection between skirt and top, therefore the practical use was the most important. Later on, when dresses were actually sewn together, belts lost their importance more and more until they were crossed out of fashion completely. It was only in the 1950s when waist belts regained their popularity in women’s fashion with the famous petticoat.

I took the liberty to sum up my favorite waist belts in this little collage.

Packt man einen Taillengürtel drauf, wird daraus ein Look

Ich persönlich bin ein großer Fan dieses Moderevivals, da man supergut einfach alles miteinander kombinieren kann. Egal was es ist, packt man einen Taillengürtel drauf, wird daraus fast immer ein Look. Zumal die engen Gummi- oder Schnürgürtel ungern gesehenes Stoffwirrwarr einfach wegzaubern. Bei meinem Pulli, den ich freundlicherweise von Romwe zugeschickt bekommen habe*, war das keine Ausnahme. Einen dicken Sweatshirt-Stoff in einen eng anliegenden Bleistiftrock zu bekommen, ohne irgendwelche Ausbeulungen, ist fast unmöglich. Der Pulli ist gerade so lang, dass ein Gürtel den Saum im Rock hält und darunter nichts unvorteilhaft hervorblitzt. Noch dazu ist der Schnitt des Pullis mit den gepufften Dreiviertelärmeln und dem angesetzten Rollkragen perfekt für unvorhersehbares Wechselwetter, das der September so mit sich bringt. Von der wunderschönen und total modernen Farbe mal ganz abgesehen. Er trägt sich super angenehm, ist innen weich und macht mich einfach rundum glücklich. Weil Schwarz und nur eine weitere Farbe nicht wirklich thisiskachi-like wäre, konnte ich es mir nicht nehmen, ein wenig Colour-blocking noch mit ins Outfit nehmen. Das funktioniert natürlich am besten mit den Komplementärfarben, weswegen ich mich für eine lila Armbanduhr und pinke Pumps entschieden habe. Alles andere halte ich eher schlicht; ein kleines, süßes Haarband, eine schwarze Umhängetasche und als kleiner Hingucker eine kurze Kette. Achja, die blauen Nägel darf ich natürlich nicht vergessen! Wir ihr seht, dehne ich den Begriff Komplementärfarben etwas, ich bewege mich also allgemein in der Farbnuance Gelb, die sowohl Orange, als auch Gelbgrün miteinschließt. Aber das funktioniert, denn diese kleinen Farbtupfer sind so dezent, dass sie kaum hervortreten.

Just add a belt and it creates a look

Personally, I am a big fan of this fashion because you can combine everything so easily. It really doesn’t matter what you put on, just add a belt and almost every time it creates a complete look. In addition to that, the tight elastic band or lacing just makes any redundant bulge of unfavorable fabric disappear. My jumper, which Romwe was so kind to send me*, is no exception for that matter. To pack sweatshirt fabric into a tight pencil skirt without any unflattering bulges is almost impossible. The jumper has just the right length to be held in place by the belt without anything else sticking out underneath. In addition to that, the way it is cut with its three-quarter puffed sleeves and its fitted turtle neck, is just perfect for the unpredictable weather, September comes with. And because black and only one other colour would not really be thisiskachi-like, i could not resist to get a little colour-blocking going in this outfit. And of course this works best with complementary colours which is why I decided on a purple watch and pink pumps. Everything else is pretty simple; a cute black hair band, a black cross-body bag and as a little eye-catcher, a small necklace. Oh, and don’t forget about my blue nails! As you can see, the term complementary colour has a bit of a wider range in my definition. Let’s just say, I settle around the shade yellow, which also includes orange and a little greenish yellow. But it works, since I used all the colours very subtly.
